A friend in Europe found an old KEYED whistle and sent me info. to see if I was interested. Anyone on the list familiar with the following: 12" long dark wood (ebony? rosewood?) whistle, in D, marked Julius Ludemann, Koln, Hoflieferant. Ludemann was active in the 19th century and hoflieferant I think means maker for the court. It has no cracks, plays well and in tune. It has 5 of 6 original keys with the crossover F nat. key removed but has the alt. F nat. key in place. It is missing a thin metal ring at the bottom. The price with shipping will be $175. The shop also had an ebony six key flageolet, with ivory beak, at $225, plus several fifes with keys at lower prices. Anyone interested in any of them should email me off list for more info.

I emailed my friend, and he said that is the one he found, obviosly on the web. It is available there for less, guess he wanted a profit!
