another teacher for 2004 florida tionol

I have added multi-instrumentalist Zac Leger to the line up of instructors. He will be teaching guitar accompaniment. He is an all ireland musician and is really beginning to
rack up the accolades. If you know folks who would like to attend or should attend to improve their guitaring… send them my way. Zac can play just about anything, but
will be teaching DADGAD guitar… he is John Doyle learned.

registration form is now at http://web.dcp.ufl.edu/maze/pub

i believe it is called tionolform.pdf

Please excuse this intrusion if you are not coming to the 2004 Florida
Tionol, held this year here in Gainesville at the Florida School of
Massage 6421 SW 13th St. The Saturday night concert will be located
nearby in downtown Gainesville (a mile or so from all of the hotels).

The teachers are

Kieran O’Hare uilleann pipes
Cillian Vallely uilleann pipes
Liz Knowles fiddle
John Skelton flute and whistle
Albert Alfonso drum and cuban spices
Zac Leger guitar

If there are enough early registrants, I have at least one other really
good and well known piper and teacher who would like to come down…
but I need to know asap if there are enough of you coming to support his
airfare and board.

Here is a list of hotels and motels in the area. The Paramount is
upscale… was the Sheraton until recently… rates start at just below
$79… i can set up a group rate if enough of you want to stay there.
The others are run of the mill motels and hotels all nearby the School
of Massage. Please register by December so I can account for who is
going to do what. Feel free to send me any questions you may have. We
are still in the process of getting not-for-profit status (expensive
isn’t it?!) so I need you to make your registration checks out to me.
My address is on the registration form, so you can hunt me down if you
are worried about your payment.

This will be the biggest year yet for the Florida Tionol, and I am eager
to see old friends and meet new ones. Remember, the Orlando and
Jacksonville airports are the cheapest in the area, both of which are 1
1/2 hours away. Gainesville also has a decent airport, but the airfare
into it is a little higher. Bring the family along as we are very close
(less than 2 hours in all cases) to Disney, Busch Gardens, Sea World,
Universal Studios, Silver Springs, etc.. etc… hey, its Florida.

Now, send in the registration forms and checks please.
