What does MINT in BOX mean when it’s used on eBay? Does it mean it’s new, or used in mint condition?

I would think it meant,used and in mint condition,together with original box.

Thanks for that quick reply! That makes sense–I guess if it were new it would say, well, “new.” Mint condition would mean pretty perfect, right, as it left the manufacturer almost?

“Mint” is extremely subjective. The seller might consider it “mint” if he had it for 10 years but didn’t use it much. You would be wise to ask any questions that you might have from the seller before bidding.

Mint condition is completely unmarred in any way; unused as new from factory or maker. That’s it period. Mint, as in freshly minted and uncirculated (well, it had to circulate somehow to the seller, but you get the idea). Next would be near mint, then excellent +++, ++, excellent, very good, etc. These classifications change according to both type of article and perspective of sellers. Mint should be mint, but it is better to ask specific questions if possible.

I recently sold two vintage dolls from the Strawberry Shortcake series. The dolls were never removed from their boxes when purchased. Though the boxes and sealing tape yellowed (after 20+ years) they were still MIB.
