P.S. If you’ve been thinking of getting one of these or any other of my whistles, I would appreciate the business at this time. I’ve been recovering from surgery to repair a torn retina (all’s well, no vision loss, mending nicely, back to full production again) and I need to catch up with some accumulated obligations. As always, thanks for all your help and encouragement. This community is a treasure.
I wish you’d told me/i’d have known before placing order..
Think i will have to get back to you after the July festival..
All the best!
Sorry about that. I didn’t know, myself.
I’ve been planning to do this for several years, and have mentioned a few times since last fall that it would be the next project, but I haven’t been able to get around to it because of various delays.
Then, a few days ago, a gentleman from Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann asked me if I could make an Enat tweaked Generation for him in time for a wedding (singer needs the odd key). So I did, and now I can make more of them, and Bnat as well now that I’ve successfully worked out how to do it.
Best wishes,
Jerry
Very exciting news, this!
So did you work up or down? What I mean is, did you make the B out of a Bb or a C? And did you make the E out of an Eb or an F?
I’m glad to hear that you’re recovering well.
Bb and Eb.
I’ve played the key of E whistle that was converted from an F Generation by a pipemaker (name escapes me at the moment, but we’ve discussed it on this board, lovely man). It’s a nice whistle and there would be places where that voicing would be desirable, definitely a narrow bore whistle, not as full and “fat” sounding as you would be used to from playing Eb Generations.
I hope that makes sense.
Best wishes,
Jerry
That’s great, Jerry!
Very useful things to have in the bag!
Next will be a Generation C# ??? hmmmm… (I use mine quite a bit actually)
I’ll put my best people on it.
Best wishes,
Jerry
