Hello everyone. I recently purchased a D Chanter from Andreas Rogge made in brass, Polyacetal (Polyoxymethylene-Delrin-Pom) and ABS. I am myself building and selling the Bag and Bellows after an intensive process of research and practice. The Practice Set will be ready in December 2010 or January 2011.
The sound of the Chanter is very woody and has very little to envy of many Chanters made from solid wood, both Pao-Ferro Rosa, Blackwood or Ebony. Sounds like Ebony. This material is being used (Polyacetal (Polyoxymethylene-Delrin-Pom)) to build flutes and oboes (Yamaha) … giving a very warm sound, solid, sweet and clear.
This set is both for starters or for someone who wants a set to add to his collection for Studio, or play outdoors as it is fairly constant with temperature changes. This Chanter very easy to play and perfectly tuned.
It has no keys.
The Bellows will be natural hardwood Red Heart (also on request at the same price could be done in: Amarello, Gonzalo Alves, Lacewood, Rosewood (Honduras or Amazon), Bocote or Zebrano), sealed with a synthetic skin-of multicomponent 4 sylnilon based coatings, patent leather, silicone gel-aluminized skin mottled brown or black synthetic imitation, equipped with excellent air pressure and volume, I offer the choice of carving your name into the wood.
The set is equipped with double Bag: double cow leather waterproof, maintenance free (making it very comfortable to play) and a bourdeos bag (wine redy) made of velvet, but you can choose your own choice (color and material …) also have the option of replacing leather bag for multicomponent synthetic leather-4-based coatings sylnilon, patent leather, silicone gel-aluminized skin mottled brown or black synthetic imitation, with excellent pressure by volume. This option is more durable than leather, but some people prefer the leather to be more traditional.
The tube is extremely durable and the connectors are plastic ferro-embellished gold and nickel.
Price €700, will be available in December-January when the stock and the Bellows Red-Hearth wood are finished and pass quality tests. After January the price will be 900 € + shipping. I sell separately the bag$bellows for 400€ or 300€ with a simpler bellows and only the leather bag.
