An Irish Christmas party in Arkansas

We had our Christmas party Friday night at Alan Caffrey’s house, and it was great fun.

There are pictures online, courtesy of Mark Wagner. Select “ACMS and Jim Crowley”

There are a few shots of me in there (the great white Whale of Arkansas! ), but ignore those and the rest should show how much fun we all had.

Special thanks to Alan Caffrey, to singer and songwriter Jimmy Crowley who did a fine job, and to the ACMS who sponsored his trip to this side of the pond to play for us.

Looks like a good time all around… and those pictures are especially nice, clearly taken by someone who knows how. I’d not noticed the details on Jimmy Crowley’s zook before.

Looks like a lot of fun. The last shot in the series was a great sign-off.

Lovely set of photographs there..no doubt.

Nice to see the Cork Boy again..

I often wonder if the smell from Patricks Bridge is still wicked..

Tell the dark haired bird with the fiddle I said Hello

Slan,
D.

The dressmaker deserves a big round of applause. The symetry of the celtic patterns, the colors, and the craftsmanship were stunning.

One question. On the photo of the top of the mandolin is a shamrock on a black oval. What is that? I thought at first it was a tuner.

That’s Jimmy Crowley’s bouzouki. I didn’t get to pay much attention to him while he was setting up, but I think I saw him clip a tuner there.

The man knows how to sing a song. We were honored to have him there.
