Gagnier, Raoul has “Medley of Irish Jigs”, “Medley of Scotch (sic) Jigs”, “Meldey of reels”, and “Clog dance” on fiddle. The reels are particularly cool, though the jigs and clog dance sound a bit rushed. (Raoul Gagnier is a typical Celtic name, isn’t it?)
I’d always thought that Garry Owen was Scotitsh and that Kerry Dancce would be Irish, though.
Gerson, Albert has a more measured “Jig Medley” and a nice “Reel Medley”.
The Glacier Park Indians (Blackfeet Tribe) has a “Gambler’s Song”, no doubt anticipating the rise of Indian Casinos some decades later.
Tons of French stuff, including some reels on the G page.
Jones, Billy seems to have been a bit of a rounder.
There are definitely some interesting tunes in there. Let me know if anyone finds any whistling.
As I recall someone posted about playing the bones today. They might be interested in “Polka irlandaise = [Irish Polka] (1929)”- if I recall correctly.
Of course tunes such as “Turkey in the Straw” might as well be Irish (or is it?).
