An Bonnán Buí

I know I have seen the abc notation for this tune before but now I can’t find it again.

Have you seen it anywhere?

Thanks!

Thank you Peter, both for the information and the abc score.

BTW, do you know of any good piping recording of this tune other then the Mikie Smyth version on “A new dawn of Uilleann piping”?

All the best,

MarcusR

I have heard Ollie Conway sing it many times and that does me fine. Brian Mac recorded it as well I think. And I seem to remember Finbar Furey. so that covers a broad spectrum between them

Didn’t Liam O’Flynn record it somewhere along the line? Also a fine version sung in English by the Dublin singer Al O’Donnell, I think on his 2nd record.

I think there’s a recording of this on O’Flynn’s “The Poet and the Piper” cd.

Hi,

It is also on the 1st CD of “Ireland’s Best Slow Airs” (companion to the book “110 of Ireland’s Best Slow Airs” published by Waltons Publishing) - albeit, played on fiddle, but very nicely done.

Slan!

Thanks all for the input, lovely tune it is.
I’ll look into the other sources you mentioned but for now I’ll settle with the Mikie Smyth version.

Cheers!
