I’m thinking about buying the Heather Clarke book from Amazon.com but I was just wondering has anyone bought items from them before? If so, are they reliable and efficient? What about overseas shipping -any problems?(i’m in Australia)

I have always received outstanding service from Amazon.
I’ve bought fairly obscure stuff from them and it’s always been very efficient and has often worked out cheaper. I’m in Australia too, so some of the stuff has actually been sent from Hong Kong - I gues they have a distributor there for the Asia-Pacific region. Go for it. C/card payment is secure.

Our dollar is better against the US at the moment than the Euro so its a lot cheaper for me to buy from Amazon than NPU at the moment. Its a shame they don’t sell the NPU vids.

-Amazon service has been good for me overall, but the care taken to provide books in good condition has been a little lacking. I ordered a book found on delivery to have pages bound together on the outer edge and inseparable without surgery. Amazon didn’t create or bind the defective book, but needs better QC inspection to avoid sending defective merchandise. Amazon replaced the book cheerfully at no extra cost for shipping the return back or getting a new copy.. -A friend’s book arrived having been packed securely with a sliced cover. She thought the hassle not worth it to deal with the return process and kept it as is. -Good thing the content of the book is better than its QC.
Yes, Amazon’s exchange practices are painless if a little inconvenient, but a customer needs the item to be in good condition the first time! Heck, the nuisance value of returning defective items outweighs the convenience of web shopping easily.
I got my copy from Amazon, wasn’t even that expensive for being here in the states. Only like $20, a lot sheaper than getting t from NPU.

Hi, I have purchased numerous books through Amazon and I have been very pleased with their services. Often cheaper than other sources too.
I have ordered books from the States through Amazon because certain books were not available through UK publishers and I was not charged extortionate amounts of postage.
In additon, I have requested books that are out of print and they found me used copies on several occasions. Shortly after delivery Amazon contacted me via email and asked me to rate the seller.
In summary, I have had excellent service from Amazon.

I have purchased all kinds of books from Amazon, and not a few CDs… however, the next time I think about purchasing a CD from there, I’ll go through Pat D’Arcy’s link for Amazon.
Oops! Oh, yeah, the topic … um … sorry about that … drifted a bit … I buy from Amazon.com (the US one) all the time, as the Canadian one is a joke. They never seem to have what I want. I have also bought through the UK amazon for stuff that isn’t on the US one. I have not had any problems.

I’ve bought everything from books to CDs on Amazon with no problems at all.
Before you do that, though, check the price with Celtic Southern Cross in Tassie. They’re also very good. I got my copy from them. They also have a good range of music and other books; Mike and Beth are very helpful.
