am I fool for combining Electronic music with Irish trad?

If anyone has heard anything similar please do notify me, thankyou! I hope you enjoy!
I want all honesty, be brutally truthful with me I can handle it, much love!

 good to hear synthesized sounds and bagpipes

the track ‘Argyle Street Taxi’ seems to be clash of the house and pipe genre, i’m glad to hear others experimenting!

Sounds more electronic than electronic/trad to me…

Heard of Martyn Bennett? If not, start with ‘Grit’ (his last and best) for some great and perhaps uniquely organic trad fusion!

Try Michael McGoldrick’s Fused. Many of the tracks have a downbeat jazzy electronica thing going on.

No. Judging from the link you’re just a fool.

Sorry Dougy, but that was horrible.I didn’t hear anything resembling Traditional Music in the clip.
However,I think there could be a future for you as a composer working with Pinball/Poker machine makers :poke: ..
As requested … "brutally truthfull " ..

As long as you like it, you’re not a fool. Who knows what you’ll come up with. Throughout the history of music, lots of garbage has been created experimentally before someone found something really terrific. Share’em here.

On the positive side, a few more people have heard your music.

More thoughts on people who really are combining electronics with trad (All Music Is Folk Music and all that, but I personally can’t hear any trad whatsoever in the YouTube link you posted) … not all of them are drawing their trad element from Irish BTW

There’s a grand old tradition of degrading and debasing
traditional music of all stripes.
