Aluminium, was it a good choice?

I own a Little Black D and I quite like it, I now prefer it to the sound of my Sweetone because it has a clearer and more tinwhistly sound to it. The only bad thing about is that it dents really really easily.

I’m just thinking, was aluminium that good an idea? Sure it’s nice and lightweight but these days I’m almost scared of slinging it for fear of it collapsing

I got a Little Black for my 11 year old son and it didn’t take long before it was bent in a few places. If you can find a Feadog or an OAK buy one and put the the Little Black fipple on it for a great sounding and stronger whistle.

IMO the aluminum on the LBD is way too thin to be practical - its uncomfortably light and it dents very easily. I don’t know about the Feadog because I have never seen one but the Oak has a relatively heavy, beautifully nickle-plated brass tube (its very pretty). I haven’t tried my LBD fipple on my Oak body but I might just do that. Anybody know if the LBD fipple is glued on?

I do not believe any of the Walton whistles fipples are glued on.
