Which tunes would you prefer to play on an alto F whistle?
It’s no different for F than for any other key. If I want to play in F or Gm then it might be a good choice. Also, though, if I want to play in C or Bb, I want to play principally in the bottom octave and the melody requires me to go down to a low 5th, 6th or 7th. Low C and Bb whistles are cumbersome so I avoid that and still get the bottom octave start I want. (I assume you mean low F, I wouldn’t ever want to play a high F even though I own one.)
