Wow! Strange sentiments to post to a forum for pipers! I like the pipes/accordion combo myself. I’m biased - wife plays accordion and I play pipes. We’ve enjoyed some recordings featuring John Whelan and Jerry O’Sullivan which have more or less validated what we were doing.

My -soprano saxophone, uileann pipes and box at the same session. The mind boggles over the interesting intonation combinations that this must have presented!

i played in a pub in september 2001 with a french-canadian harpist - i can’t remember her name - other people were supposed to show up but didn’t make it - i couldn’t cope with the way the humidity altered the pitch of my chanter & don’t know how people have the perseverence to play the pipes out there - i did some busking too but the money wasn’t as good as i’ve found it can be in ireland and the uk
