It looks like the meerchaum pipes I used to sell at Tinder Box years back! LOL Can you smoke out of it too? Does it turn a nice honey brown color after years of your favorite Cavendish or Burley?

Probably a dumb question, but… Danny, are your pipes any heavier than, say, a set made with nickel-silver or brass?
Those are some sweet looking pipes, Danny! I’ve seen/heard some of Dave’s s.steel pipes before. They’re in a class of their own. I love his design for the reg keys.
yeah they are more heavy than other pipes, the steel feruls at the ends are not solid but make them heavy. i asked dave when he was making them to make them all steel as i dont like plastic as it breaks easy. it took him i while longer to make them though, cause he had never done it befor, doesnt do anything change the sound or anything. but all the bass drone is all steel,and has two tuners on it so you can have it pulled up tight for sessions or have it about 3 and a half foot long for the ladies? i asked him to leave the other two drones in one piece at the top(in ebony) and there is a small tuner on the tenor drone so its easy to tune (its like a little wing) the chanter is fully loaded again with no decoration just the steel. the hardest part to make he said was the “bed post” bass reg cap and that is heavy. but they dont look like daves pipes i played in a session with paddy keenan last november in armagh. and he asked me “who the maker was” even though his pipes are daves as well
