Alba whistles

Oooo!!! Judy! You have to post a picture of it! I would love to see what Stacey did.

It’s actually my hope (eventually) to go over and pick one out for meself. I’ll bring all the kids…I’m sure that Stacey would love it

ooohh, Izzy – go ahead and make that promise over on Whistles 'n Strings, why don’t ya?! I did post a shot of the whistle on GC, but it’s kinda fuzzy. Good photography is apparently not my calling.

Well, I had a Q1 and an earlier one, tunable, that I was in love with. The craftsmanship (craftswomanship is so cumbersome to type! ) from Stacey is impeccable, the sound of both is bright, perfectly in tune, and hangs in there even beyond high B. which, unlike many whistles, I could kick in without excessive volume!

Both of my Albas were stolen, unfortunately, and haven’t been replaced yet, but I will be doing so, now I’m playing in session. Their voices are sorely missed.

Yeah, I make whistles, too, but Stacey’s are just plain lovable!

Cheers,
Bill Whedon

I’m getting curious now! The Alba site doesn’t seem to make reference to the Q1, or any other model by name, that I could see. Is the Q1 what you get if you order from her site, or is that a special-order deal?

You must email her on the site and let her know that you want a Q1. She will give you directions from there. You can also order it from BigWhistle UK. If you want anything special you need to email her directly to make the request or do like Izzy go over and pick it up.
