hi all,
just ordered my first non-cheap soprano whistle, an Alba Q1, from bigwhistle.co.uk. anyone know how long it takes for delivery from there? also do i need to be at home for it or is it postboxable?

The service from “Mr Wetyer” is very good. I’ve had a couple of orders from him both posted the day ordered. One was certainly accompanied by a chatty email to say it was on it’s way. Neither needed a sig. Can’t remember if they came in tubes, but half way up a Welsh hillside we have a safe place for postie to leave parcels!

Delivery should be around 2 days from my experience. Your parcel will most likely squeeze through your letterbox, as Mr Wetyer uses plenty of soft and squeezy padding for his packages.
I have a Q1 whistle from him, and trust me, it is an astonishing whistle: lovely to play, and beautiful to listen to. I hope you find yours to be the same!

Trisha is absolutely right. I’ve ordered from bigwhistle aswell and if it said thay had stocks of Q1 Alba’s -they usualy have all their products in stock- it shouldn’t take many day’s for it to deliver. I don’t think you’ll need to be at home when it come’s, I once ordered a Low D flute whistle combo and it fitted in my mailbox so it shouldn’t be a problem. Ofcourse I don’t know how your mailservice works where you live.
Don’t forget to tell us about the new whistle when it arrives. The Q1’s are pretty new and sold only on bigwhistle if I understand it right. I’m sure I’m not the only one curious about how it play’s on this board.

The Q1 was out of stock when I ordered from Big Whistle and it still arrived in the same week I ordered it!! Fantastic whistle, fantastic service!!
It arrived well packed in a sort of non-tube shaped tube with bubble wrap in perfect condition and slipped through my average sized letter box easily enough.
Enjoy it, I certainly do!!
