Hello everybody !
First excuse my crap english!
I would like to get a second-hand Half or FullSet made by Alain Froment!
Alain is a neighbour (& friend) and I really love his work… but I’m a young UilleannPipes student and 14years is a too long period for me.
So, if someone wants to sell his set /or if someone is on Alain’s waiting list and has changed opinion he can contact me.
Thank you!
Loïc
Oh, honey. Don’t we all.
Mind your place in the cue. It’s a long wait.
Is the wait really that long? According to my information:
Alain G. Froment
Practice Set £300
Half Set £600
Full Set £1,300
“Delivery time is exceptionally short, two weeks for a practice set, six weeks for a full set.”
My info is from the Pipers’ Review and An Píobaire, so it must be accurate. Let’s take a look here… hmmm, March 1984. Well that wasn’t that long ago. Oh there is also an Egan chanter with Coyne drones and regs for sale for $1,200. Bag isn’t included.
Yes, I find the past more comforting than eBay.
Looks like you’re daydreaming, lad…But who knows ?..
Cela dit, tu peux toujours essayer, bonne chance…
You and me both!
Aw c’mon, misterpatrick! Nostalgia is a thing of the past.
t
… ouch.
Sounds like people here are starting to create a wait list for second hand sets made by Alain!
Poupounou , is it a joke ?
See you saturday .
P.S.
create a wait list for second hand sets made by Alain!
Good idea ! . Perhaps more expensive than new one ! But with inflation , who knows ?
Hi Loïc,
A set of Froment pipes in B came up for sale last May and sold within 2 days. The asking price seems to have been approx. $12,000. Don’t know what the final sale price was. Here’s a link to the thread.
