Aiming for the Heart - Andy Irvine

Just snagged a copy of this little songbook from Amazon Deutschland. Apparently, it is only published in Germany. Thank heavens for being able to order it from the States!

My wife and I have always debated some of the chords and lyrics on various songs, so it’s nice to finally put some of those to rest. It has the best collection of Andy Irvine songs we could ever want. Here is a link for it:

If you like Irvine or Planxty, it’s worth the 16 euros!

This thread prompted me to read up on Andy Irvine’s past at his webpage: http://www.andyirvine.com/bio/bio-1.html

Fascinating bio!! (Lots of history I knew nothing about).

Yes, he’s a really interesting person beyond his musical prowess. The fact he spent time in the Balkans and soaked up all of that culture and let it influence his approach to his instrument is inspiring. I only wish I did that after college, but alas, marriage and children arrived sooner than expected!
