Advice for new purchase

Just came into some unexpected cash and will probally be looking for at least a few new whistles. Here is where I would like some advice. The whistles I have now are inexpensive ones and I would like to upgrade. Should I go to something mid-priced like a Dixon Trad or a Susato. I’ve read good things about both of them. Orrr should I get something a little more expensive (from lets say from $85.00 to maybe around $140.00). I have seen several whistles in this price range and would like some input. I really like wood (although I don’t have one) and have looked at the Sweetheart Pro. I know this is all kinda subjective but any input would be great. Like anyone else I’am looking for the most bang for my buck.

Have a Great Day!

Dixon and Susato are both good whistles. I lean toward the Dixon.
And of course whoa is incomplete without a wood whistle. Scroll down a little and you should see a thread about the Sweetheart pro.

A Burke BrassPro D is near your price point. Fine instrument, in all ways…

Best.

Most bang for your buck? Try ebay, tin whistle--------whistle of wood, cardinal red. A very nice whistle. Plays well too.

As far as getting the most bang for your buck, three that come quickly to mind are a Hoover Whitecap or Blacktop on a cheapie body, a Mellow Dog, or an O’Brien.

The first two can be had for $40-$50, and an O’Brien for $80 (Canadian!).

All three consistently get great reviews. I’ve got a Hoover Whitecap which I like a lot (on an Oak or Feadog). I just got a Mellow Dog yesterday. I like the tone, but I’m going to have to get used to the air requirements for the upper register. I don’t have an O’Brien, but one is on my short list.

For a great deal, Syn Soprano Eb/D/C/Bb Whistle Set, aluminum with delrin fipple for $86 US. I own it and love it.
