A couple of weeks ago, the children (who love to rearrange things) placed a rug under the dog’s supper dish.
I looked at the rug and noted the proximity to Mr. Mouseinthewall’s doorway. “Nah,” I thought to myself. “It’s way too heavy. He’ll leave it alone.” (This is, in fact, a heavy rug. It has a rubber non-skid back that’s rather dense.)
Then, a couple of mornings ago, I came into the kitchen and found …
In case you missed the original thread about Mr. Mouseinthewall, here are the photos from his previous project:
Just before Xmas I hid a load of gifts in an attic cupboard. When I went to retrieve them for wrapping, a mouse had shredded two woollen scarves for nest material!
Jerry, you have a greedy mouse: “Screw this shredding up bits and oddments. The Missus wants a nest? No prob. I’m going for the whole enchilada. That’s ‘alpha mouse’ for you.”
Here, for the record, are some recent photos of Antoine:
His favorite spot.
Policing the driveway. That’s the children’s printer. I keep the printer cable in my office lest the children use up a whole ink cartridge on doodles in one sitting. The other day, Genia asked me to print a Mother’s Day card she’d composed on the computer. I went to hook up the printer and saw it was turned on. “Who turned on the printer?” I asked. “Not me,” said Genia. “Oh, never mind,” I said. “I know who turned it on.”
The big game hunter brings down a zebra.
This dog is hard to photograph. The only part of him that reflects light is his eyes.
Not this one. He’s not a deermouse. And not around here. There are millions and millions of deermice in New York (I’ve caught and released couple of dozen), but only a handful of cases of hantavirus have ever been recorded here. If this were Colorado, I would be concerned, but not here.
Bringing a cat into the house would kill my wife, btw. (Literally. She’s that allergic to them.)
