How do u measure it’s rigth place, from middle of the “blowhole” or it’s “above edge”.(mouthpiece inside diam is 18mm)
(I’m not flute player, asking this for helping my friend who probably push it
accidentally when cleanin it).
Could it be reason that tone went strange dull and weak, and blowin is hard to do?
( made from Acetal +one key).
Cheers,
Mikko
The position is measured from the middle of the blow hole and should be about the diameter of the bore of the head. If it has shifted, it can make a difference in the sound and intonation of the flute.
Sounds more like there is a leak somewhere. If it is a jointed flute, make sure all of the joints are snug and waxed. Also, the cork in the headjoint could be leaking. As far as I know, the positiion of the cork will affect mostly intonation and whether the octaves are in tune with each other.
