This CD is great listening. I have had it 2 weeks and have listened to nothing else in the car. The new singer is exceptional in my opinion. There is a little bit of everything on it, jigs, reels, airs, songs. I especially like the first track, The Cat’s meow, each of the instruments takes a turn, and track 10 Hard Times. CTL fans will not be disappointed.

Now here comes another whistle board post from me… I’ve not been posting on the whistle board for ages, and I kinda miss it :slight_smile: .

I like Across the Waves too. Got a chance to buy it at a CTL concert here in Sweden and get it signed by all the members :party: .
This is great stuff. Flags of Dublin is a very cool set too and the JM whistle solos parts in some tunes are smashing, seeing it live was a surreal experience. I’ve seen some good whistlers and fluters and I’m always impressed by them. Has anyone noticed that everyone of these professionals do a lot of rolls and cranns and stuff and they all sound quite similar but they all have a different style when you look at them (this is a bit of a generalisation ofcourse). Joanie’s fingers seem to just fly on the whistle in wide sweeping motions, and they do that fast and often. Nice stuff.

I have not yet met Roisin and Mirella. What are they like? Joanie and Heidi are both very friendly, Donna is really nice, and Mary is one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. I love them as a group, I love them as individuals, and they can count on my support anytime. :smiley:

They are all too sweet for sure. :slight_smile:
Roisin is so cute, she seems abit shy almost. I mean not really shy, but a bit quiet etc. She does handle the fiddle like a goddess and she is so friendly.
Mirella seems like a very nice person too, just plain pleasant to be around. Warm, confident and caring.
Let me just add that these are just first impressions, it’s not like I’ve spent much time with them, just chatted abit with them after the show.
Joanie was too funny. She was just one of those persons that you instantly love, she’s probably one of the strongest personalities I’ve come across in a good while.
