I have a A and D blackwood-whistle on order from Chris Abell but have not heard any good sound clips of these whistles. How do they compare to the whistles made by Fred Rose?
I really like the tunes of the Rose that I have heard from Mick Woodruff.

I have played both and slightly prefer the Rose; both are made by master craftsmen and they are both stunningly beautiful. You won’t be disappointed with your Abell though, it is an outstanding whistle regarded by many as the world’s best.
