Can anyone point me to a recording if such? How does this particular key compare to his others? I have found this key to be quite fun to noodle around in but found few whistlesmiths who make this key.
Can’t help you re. Abell, but my iMpempe B is the most played whistle around my home a.t.m.
Great playing along with Ronan Browne
and B is a ‘sweet to the ears’ whistle key as well.
Click on the picture to hear a sound clip of a key of A first then key of B whistles I make with a pvc head, delrin plug, and aluminum tone tube painted black.
The Burke B is popular with uilleann pipers and their mates, probably influenced by Mick O’Brien.
Handy for playing along with recordings of B sets when you are trying to work out a new tune.
Whistling duets featured a bit on some CDs eg Kitty Lie Over (all in B or Bb)
And sometimes useful for people who play tunes with B pipers.
