ABC question: Where is the #$%^&* Bar character on my keyb

OK this has got to be the most basic stupid question ever aked on ABC notation. Noone in any tutorial on it even covers this…probaly assumign any idiot knows.

In abc notation measueres dividers are noted by a straight vertcal bar character that i cant find anywhwere on my keyboard. It must be basic to find/do, will someone please help me find this so I can do this properly? thanks

Kev

It’s a shifted though it may look much like a colon on the keyboard, it comes out as a |

On a Mac, it is found three keys to the right of letter “p,” on the key marked for a [lowercase] backslash, and you have to hit the shift button (as if you were typing a capital letter) at the same time.

Dunno 'bout IBM, though…

'luck now,

Thanks guys…||||||||||||| !!! :slight_smile: :slight_smile: :slight_smile:

FWIW, the !@#$% vertical bar character is called the “pipe character”

Gary, Gary, Gary…You’ve got it all wrong…I believe the correct curse that Kevin made was “the #$%^&* bar character” You really should try to do better next time. :wink:

My thought as well, but I cut Gary slack every now and then…given his penchant for that certain infamous thread that shall remain nameless, I had thought him a true connoisseur of the profane, but this unfortunate incident of mislabled curses, well, I just dont know anymore… :slight_smile:

…Its stickening!
