I stumbled across a very handy website for converting abc files to pdf files. I wonder if others have found it, too. It’s nice because you don’t need to download any software. You just paste your abc tune into a window, click on “submit” and before you can say “Robert is your mother’s brother-in-law” you have it in dots.

Well, yes, actually, now that you mention it, I think we pretty much all have. You forgot to mention that it will also play it for you as a MIDI if your computer is suitably equiped.
In any case, welcome aboard. ![]()
Have you stumbled across www.metronomeonline.com yet? Another useful site.

I didn’t know about it. I downloaded something that requires reading instructions, so this looks good to me! ![]()
I’ve got a few ABC programs on my box. I’ve even read the directions and learned how to use them, but the Tune-O-Tron is just so gosh darned straight forward and simple that it’s what I usually reach for instinctively.
But then I use vi and consider it straight forward and simple, so you shouldn’t necessarily take my word for things like this.

Well, what the heck is
vi?
vi is a text editor in unix known for it’s relatively obscure key combinations
Yeah! vi kicks Emac’s Lispy behind.
The only problem I had with the Tune-O-Tron is that I assumed the pdf’s were persistant.
They aren’t; they go away after a few hours. Of course, all you have to do to remedy that
is remember to print or save the pdf on your machine, but as I found, you can’t just generate
a pdf and send someone the link to it… (D’oh)
Not bad but I got one line with only one bar on it and only two notes in the bar.

I think that means you had one too many Tullamore Dew’s before you started playing.
Aaah Concertina net’s convertor…why can I never get the pdf’s to print out with the stave lines
???
