While replying to another post, I came up with the idea of a world map on the main board that locates all the members of the Chiff and Fipple.
I think it would really add a sense of community, to see the how far and wide we are, yet so close on this board.
I haven’t got a clue how it would be done, but I know we have friends here who might see it as a challenge.
If I remember correctly a few years ago you did publish a list of members by country, which I found interesting.
What do you think?

We did that once during a steet fair on Argyle Street in Chicago an couple of years ago. Argyle Street is the North Side Chinatown, with folks from all over the Pacific rim. There’s so many cultures and so many different Chinese languages that you hear there…I met great kids from Tibet, and you can bet, so many people were gathered around that world map with pins…it was fabulous! And people kept checking back again and again! Needless to say, Deadwood, South Dakota was sticking out like a sore thumb. The great part about the whole thing, for all the cultural differences, Argyle Street has always had a sense of being a much bigger community with a big heart! if you need some help, Erik, let me know! I’ll pitch in!
I think it is a TERRIFIC idea. In fact, I did some work in the direction of doing this a few years ago, and it got held up because I couldn’t find a simple way to collect the data, that is, the locations of subscribers.
Well, it been more than a couple of weeks and MarkB and I were chatting about how I hadn’t done anything… so, I know that I won’t be able to get to this wonderful idea for at least 6 months. Can I offer it up to someone that has more time on their hands?
Thanks and sorry for dropping the ball - though I will pick it back up again if someone else doesn’t want to do it sooner.
