A Tygress in Adare

Thought you might like to know about the visit I had from the lovely Tygress (Amy) and her equally charming husband, Win, at Shanna Quay this week. They called in on Saturday morning, having just landed at Shannon - and despite the jet lag and Amy’s broken (and still mending) leg were in remarkably great spirits, and obviously pleased to be in Ireland again. I was sorry to see them go, after only 15 minutes or so!

You can imagine how pleased I was, then, to find that - because the wind was so high today - they had abandoned their planned ferry from Tarbert to Clare (and the cliffs of Moher) and arrived back in Adare, where they had lunch (and where I invited myself along!) I closed the shop for an hour and we had a wonderful old ‘chin wag’.

It’s really good to meet up with C&F’ers (I’ve already got Jessie and Martin as notches on the belt) and it’s no surprise to me that they are all first-class people. Amy was remarking, as she left, that the C&F ‘fraternity’, and the internet, made it feel as if we were actually very close togther (maybe ‘close knit’) rather than actually quite far apart in some cases.

Steve (with a nice warm glow about him)

Come on, Steve, that’s nice. But did she buy any whistles? Which kind?

A woman’s whistles are her own affair!

Yes she did…and acquired one (that she didn’t ask for) too.

(she’ll KILL me)…oh, OK…a Dixon F and two Doolin 2 piece whistles (she had one in her pocket at lunchtime). The acquired one is a nickel generation D.

 Steve
