… by Liz Frencham. It’s her first solo outing. Just listen for yourselves and order here:

I’ve been meaning to give this album a plug but have been waiting till Liz got her new website in order. Her style is utterly personal but she is a wonderful singer in both jazz and folk styles and a virtuoso bass player. She also writes her own material which is often very intimate and personal. The musicians who support her are understated but uniformly fine.
In the interest of honest disclosure, I should say that I know Liz. To say she is a friend would be stretching our acquaintance a bit far; actually we are on the fringes of each other’s social scenes. A cousin of hers is a close friend of mine. That said, she is close enough that there were plans (that fell through) to do some overdubs for this album in my studio.
But Liz’s music speaks for itself. I find this album exhilerating, very satisfying and, in places, deeply moving. Please give it a listen.
