Hi there. I don’t advertise here. Well, this is as close as I will come anyhow. If you want to keep track of what’s happening with my whistles, please remember to sign up again for the mailing list, as I lost it before I went into the hospital. My computer crashed bad, stupid no backup boy here lost the whole magilla. I promise to not inundate you with stuff. There’s a link at the bottom of this note if you want to join or re-join…
Thanks to all who wished me well - I am slowly getting better - have lost 65 pounds (what a heck of a way, though!)… My BP is controlled so low that I get dizzy when I bend down to tie my shoes, and my Dr thinks that’s fine.. the blood clot in the left ventricle is slowly but surely dissolving with the blood thinner therapy, but the worry that I might cut myself shaving and have to go to the ER is not jolly. As some of you know, I shave a lot of territory on this old fat head!
Anyhow, Happy New Year to everyone. I hope to be able to get on here a bit more often in the future.
Cheers from Bill Whedon
Bill, if you don’t want to go fuzzy, follow toughnot’s recommendation and get an electric shaver. If nothing else, think of the embarassment - there you are sitting in the emergency room, and the doctor asks why you’re there. And you reply “Um, I cut myself shaving.”
Yes, I know it’s a real problem - I’m glad that your medication is helping, but right now you’ve effectively got an artificial form of hemophilia. So why not avoid an unnecessary risk? And wear gloves in your workshop!
(BTW - I’m spending about half my playing time on the red SunSinger A you made for me. Takes a more aggressive playing style than most of my other whistles, but I love the authoritative way it lays down a tune.)
