A question for you Londoners

We’re going to be staying in the Docklands (yes, I know it’s a little off the beaten path, but we got a good rate, and the apartments are very nice). While I plan to make it to one of the cathedrals for Evensong at least once during our stay, I’d like to find something a little more local for church on Sunday. Any idea what there is in that area? We’re C of E (well, ECUSA, actually, but it amounts to the same thing).

Take your pick! Look for churches on the Isle of Dogs, which is the other name for the Docklands.

For Cathedrals, I know you’re visiting St Paul’s and Westminster Abbey, and I recommend Southwark on the south bank, very near where The Golden Hind is moored.

Despite the conflagration in 1666, London still has a wealth of old churches, if you’re interested in church architecture the like of which you won’t generally see in the US.

The first link I found & posted was for Catholic Churches, of which there were a good half dozen listed.

Many thanks!
