Me and the family stayed home today. After a week of having chest colds, eye infections and ear infections…we deserved a day of rest.
I got in two music practice sessions today. yay. I have the noisy instrument practice sessions while the kids are awake. I practice on bass guitar after they go to bed. So far today, I’ve put in about 30 minutes each on bodhran, harmonica, tinwhistle and rebec.
I replaced Clare Jig with Skye Boat Song in my current tinwhistle practice set. Yeah, I should have picked a simpler jig to start on. The jigs can wait for the next round of music to learn.
My tinwhistle practice time right now consists of: scales, Amazing Grace, Suo Gan, Danny Boy and Skye Boat Song. Danny Boy is really challenging my ability to accurately up the octave consistently.
I also got in a nap. All the while playing with my boys, as well.
Truly, a productive and relaxing day.
