I love it.
well, you would!
yeah, fine, I like it too ![]()
There seems to be a rather unhealthy preponderance of sans-serif fonts. I mean, after all, what is typography without a little tail?

Thank you for the wonderful present Simon. I’m sending this to my office e mail where this may very well become my new desktop image. I hope it’s not too busy and works. If it doesn’t work as a desktop, I’ll just print it on parchment paper. My real last name is all over it.
i needs me this. and the extended version.

The link Simon provided does not seem to be working but I dug it out anyhow.

Thank you. I’ve been trying to figure out if it’s the = in the middle of the URL which was breaking the bbcode, so I’ve wrestling with URL escape codes ( %3D ) and getting nowhere.
Edited: Ah! Maybe that’s why.
To escape a bbcode tag you prepend it with '' character and the result supposedly looks like this [size] but on some cases it just escapes the tag and retains the escape character before the tag, like this > . This seems to at least happen with tags having an ‘=’ inside them. Probably a bug in regexp. > source
I tried a few variations meself but no luck…strange.
Very funny though.

Although I am a font geek, I am unimpressed. Maybe it’s because I can’t see the detail of this table. It’s just a blur on the download, and it does not seem to bear finer examination.
Anyway, where’s Comic Sans on this example? ![]()

There’s a 3,150 x 2,100 pixel version here.
Ah, thank you.
I still can’t see Comic Sans. ![]()
The Lanthanides are nicely represented.
If I had been involved, I would have included the Actinides as well, as a bunch of Display Fonts. (Inherently unstable).
Isn’t Zaphine just dreamy? Are these fonts free, or do you have to buy them?

I’m disappointed, I see no Dyer nor Chelsea Studio.
Isn’t Zaphine just dreamy? Are these fonts free, or do you have to buy them?
A little of both, I suspect. AFAIK chart was produced by a graphic artist for his own amusement; it’s not any company’s marketing material.
When it comes to typefaces, it is possible to trademark a name (“Arial”, “Times New Roman”. etc.), and of course the bits (ie, the .ttf or whatever file) of a digital version, but it’s much less possible to trademark or copyright the letterforms themselves. Ariel, for instance, was MS’s ripoff of a font named Helvetica by its designer.
In other words, any successful face has dozens of copies, all travelling under different names. If you see a face you like, there are a few sites around the web which can tell you the names of other fonts that are very, very similar. Often, you can find a free version.

The original of this face was named Zapfino by its designer, Herman Zapf. It’s still very new, (released in '99; revised '03) so there aren’t any free versions I could find. It comes free on Mac OSX, however.
If you want to buy, online sources are below:

Zapf is probably the best-known type designer alive.
I’m a Palatino man, myself…
So was Roy Rogers.
