A Note From Grey Larsen

I received this email from Grey today, so I am forwarding it to members of the flute forum. I just finished listening to the hour-long interview with Grey that he mentions near the end of the email. In the June, 2007 interview at the public radio station at Indiana University, Grey talks about his early childhood musical training, how he came to write his popular books, and what might be coming next. I think that it is quite interesting and informative.

Dear Friends,

On July 31st Cindy Kallet and I recorded an interview with National Public Radio’s Andrea Seabrook about our new CD, Cross the Water. The story will be broadcast on NPR’s newsmagazine “All Things Considered” either Saturday or Sunday this weekend, August 2 or 3 (unless some late-breaking news story should cause a delay in its broadcast). We are very excited about this and wanted to let you know right away!

Happy summertime to you,

I usually don’t listen to radio while I am eating dinner, although on Saturday my wife had the radio on in the kitchen. I heard the radio announcer talking about Grey Larsen, and it was strange that I happened to hear the interview. Below is a copy of Grey’s email with a link to the performance. Like Grey says, “It was wonderful”.

Dear Friends,

Last week I wrote to announce that Cindy Kallet and I were about to appear on National Public Radio’s “All Things Considered” with Andrea Seabrook. The piece, all about our new CD Cross the Water, aired on Saturday, August 2, and it was wonderful!

If you missed the broadcast, you can listen to the interview and music by going here:

The folks at NPR do such wonderful work. We feel very honored, and grateful.

Best wishes to you,

Grey
