I wonder if there are any people who would be willing to take a 1-way trip out there knowing that the best they could do was to make it there and live until all of their resources were exhausted, all the while conducting research experiments and providing eyewitness testimony of life on Mars.

I would be willing to bet that there are some who would sign up for that mission.

I wouldn’t be one of them, though. Not that I would be picked or anything.
