But what will she play? If it was me, it would be “Banish Misfortune”.

…“Upstairs in a tent” would be appropriate…

How about “Round the World for Sport”, “All Around the World”, or “Up in the Air”?

I never saw or heard of Matt Molloy playing a metal Boehm flute. Good story though. Wonder if I can convince an astronaut to take a whistle into space…

I remember a thread…waaaay back…that was specifically intended to be the place to post pics of chiffers playing whistles in unusual and/or exotic locations.

They go up there to work, I’ve never heard of a song “flute while you work” on the other hand…

Yusef Lateef wrote a tune (in the late 50-'s, before the space craze) called “Blues in Space.” He played it on sax on the album but it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s played it on flute, too.

Ochoa spaced out.

Hell, I play in outer space all the time. Dunno what the big deal is…

An already-historic Eb timber flute, and if that weren’t enough it’s then trundled off for a spaceflight mission. Ebay will shut down from overload.

ya, he’ll have to sell it when it comes back…the insurance would be a bear.

I love playing in space. In space no one can hear your mistakes.

The black album was recorded on a Boehm?

The ugly truth exposed.

Someone asked if she knew how to play Far Far Away.

Really, a piccolo or fife would have been more appropriate.

Check out the Flute Forum’s parallel thread: one of our very own Chiffers, Lar, actually has a hands-on in the situation (2nd post from the bottom). How cool is that?

Playing a piccolo in the confined space of the ISS is a good way to get yerself invited to practice in the airlock. :open_mouth:

yer too kind Dave

Actually ISS crew have “campouts” in the airlock all the time. What could be more appropriate for a “campout” than a little piccolo music and s’mores.

earplugs…

Your are obviously unfamiliar with Michael Copley, then again…
