A few pics

So, I just couldn’t stop myself from sharing a few pics from a gig we had the other night in a local bar called MacBeth. We had a great time, the audience was just lovely (they couldn’t clap in time, but there was nothing wrong with the spirits)

(Note the string that has snapped. This caused us to do a 10 minute, improvised version of a ballad, with lots of solos and stuff while the guitarist replaced the string. Exciting to say the least)

And that’s me as you might have figured. (Note the fellow to my right covering his ear :stuck_out_tongue:)

Thanks for the photos. Do you have any sound clips of your band?

-Brett

very nice !!!

I love the pictures! You must have been having quite a great time

What whistle are you playing?

Mary

Looks cool!

Not yet really. I have some old demo stuff from when we had just started out 2 years ago. I’m not sharing that with anyone :stuck_out_tongue:
Our first CD will be out late spring/early summer though (probably July) and when that one is released we’ll put some clips up on our site.
The website will be updated in the coming months with final design and a lot more feathures.

Syn aluminium.

Thanks for all the comments guys

Has anybody told you that you hold your flute backwards?

Just kidding. You’re in good company with the likes of Catherine McEvoy and Gary Shannon just to name a couple off the top of my head.

Alright, alright, I was thinking this, but was trying to be polite :smiling_imp:

I want to know about that MONSTER box!!! What on earth? It looks huge!

Congrats on your CD, Henke. From the lineup here, it looks like you get to do a lot of heavy melody lifting – you go!

I thought we had gone over this already! :stuck_out_tongue:
Yes yes, I hold it backwards. I’ve got the whistle playing all wrong as well (right hand on top). Luckily, I don’t live in CCCP so they can’t shoot me for it.

That’s a 5-row button accordion. It’s common in Scandinavian trad and also in Italian or French style something (don’t remember really).
The guy is playing the 2-row diatonic accordion common in ITM as well, but he just got started on that a year or so ago so he’s playing the monster box until he gets all the tunes and stuff down on the 2-row.

Henke - thanx for the pix, great. Forgetting about the backwards stuff, your embouchure looks so relaxed its impressive. Looks like your just breathing into the flute. Its what I’ve been working on for a while. I’m beginning to get it but I don’t look as relaxed as you do when I gaze in the mirror.

Nicely done!
