A Failed Culinary Experiment: Ground Turkey Spaghetti

Ron, most everything starts with olive oil and garlic. Onions are dang likely…

Making your own pasta is great. Having chickens helps.

My husband always makes our spaghetti sauce with ground turkey. It doesn’t seem to bother either of us. I don’t notice any strong flavor, it seems more like a lack of flavor to me. I used to make turkey meatloaf in California and that was okay too. Not great, just sort of blah.

I don’t know if turkeys are fed differently in different parts of the country or not. Maybe that’s what makes some of the meat taste strong. I’ve just never had turkey that tasted like much of anything really.

If the package said

“Genuine Food Product”

that sounds strange to me. Ours is labeled just like any ground meat and says ground turkey. “Food Product” implies something has been done to it to modify it, doesn’t it. Like that cheese-ball cheese that is called Cheese Food Product, or something like that?
