I’ve read many articles about the low numbers in recruiting, but I haven’t “seen” it. Here’s a local article that supports what I’ve personally experienced:

As I’ve stated before, at least 2% of my son’s graduating class has enlisted in one branch or another. I also know several others from other schools, including one that was accepted to both the Citadel or the Air Force Academy (she chose the Citadel).
I’m NOT saying the other articles aren’t correct about the low numbers enlisting. I’m saying that at least in this area, numbers are still high or on target.
