A couple of airs

I just learned The Hills of Lorme and Down by Yon Sally Gardens, (courtesy of the whistleworkshop website) that I’m playing on my Susato C whistle.

Just playing these two airs has given me such intense pleasure that I had to share it with someone.

That’s all.

Well done. It’s good to be reassured that songs of great beauty can span the globe.

Down By The Sally Gardens and The Hills Of Lorne are both wonderful tunes to play. Both of those were the first airs I learned (though I still need to work on The Hills Of Lorne  ).

Go for Inisheer next, another fine whistle Air.

I haven’t played the Hills of Lorne, thanks for the new tune suggestion!

Inisheer is very nice. Still wondering though, after having heard it played three completely different ways, all of them wonderful, which way I like most… But then again, this probably goes for most slow airs.

That is great! I also love to play aires. I think I have played Down By The Sally Garden every day for the last 3 years…and I am still working on it. I think I will check out Hills of Lorne-I don’t know this one.

Seasons Greetings and Happy Whistlin’!
