A boy and his whistle

Just thought I’d share a photo of my son Liam (7yrs old) - taken at Debbie Quigley’s this weekend. He takes a whistle lesson and I take a piping lesson. He’s made larger strides than I have  and I’m very proud of him.

gee that’s nice!

I don’t see no steenkin’ picture…

Give it a minute. It took a while for it to load on my browser so it might on yours too.

Ah-- there 'tis. Worth the wait too. The young lad has discerning taste in whistles.

Aww, he’s a cutie!

Holy cow, a C natural!

Thanks  I think maybe a new post to the famous Cutie Pie thread might be in order.

Apparently one of those left-handed players, that uses the right hand on top. Too confusing for me.

Kevin Krell

that whistle looks huge next to him. i and probably all of us would like to hear him. do you think you could get on that?

That’s really nice, Paul. And from what I hear, you are both lucky to be learning from Debbie Quigley.

that is great to get such a young age into playing an instrument, especially irish. i wish i had a burke at 7. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes. When he started I attempted to get him to switch but he was more comfortable reversed. It’s actually pretty cool because he sees Debbie play and it’s a mirror image for him. It’ll be hard when he takes up the pipes - he’ll need a left hand set.

He’s not ready for prime time yet, but when he is then I’ll record a piece for C&F

Nice photo.

Well, he certainly does belong on the cutie pie thread! You don’t have to tell him we called him that, though  . What a sweet-looking little fellow.

Thanks Carrie, Debbie is a marvellous teacher!

Cynth, he is a great kid, thanks very much for the compliment
