A Beautiful Thing

Email from Mark Gowman (Thanks to Tony for pointing out an error in the link, now fixed)

Hi Dale–

Mark Gowman here, C & F devotee since, uh, well, I don’t really know when. But it’s been a while. I’m hoping you may be able to get the word out for me to the millions of DaleHeads out there. Here at East Rochester High School in western New York, we have a two-year-old trad Irish band. We are about to release our first CD, and–speaking like a proud papa here-- I really think there are a few a moments of greatness on there. It certainly doesn’t sound like two-years-into-it high school kids. If you visit www.erschools.org/celtic you can hear a few sound samples and find out more about the CD and the group. Aside from the fact that it is, according to one reviewer, “…such an incredible recording that it brings tears to my eyes” (okay, so that reviewer was the mom of a kid in the group), we are selling these CD’s to raise money to go to Ireland next summer and purchase trad instruments.

If you could, in your infinite wisdom, find a way to direct Fipplees to our website, we would be so very grateful. We aren’t currently set up to take credit card orders, but we should be soon.

Thanks!

Mark

p.s. Here’s us on stage last spring with Lunasa. I guess those guys are pretty good, if you’re into that sort of thing. (Please note irony.)

Well, I haven’t even listened to the music, yet, but what an awesome CD cover.

Shoot, Dale.

Now you’ve got me all misty eyed.

(Very cool. You know, those folks aren’t far from here. I’ll need to investigate and see if they’re going to have a concert I could bring my kids to hear.)

Best wishes,
Jerry

Nice playing. Lovely effort.

I’ll say! That is an excellent cover and title!

Well, I did listen to some of the music and DID order the CD!

Gaa! This is amazing, now you all know why I love high school kids! Nice energy! Great CD!
