I got up earlyish this morning and took a stroll around the pond across the street from our new home. This place just gets better and better!
Here’s where I started out:

I soon spotted some transient neighbors:

Bittersweet berries:

Pokeberries (poisonous, but pretty):

Looking back across the pond towards home:

In all my years of hiking and nature watching, I’ve never spotted Wood Ducks in the wild, but here they were!:

This spot is about 50 yards from our front door: great place to sit and play a whistle!

Fall’s colours haven’t hit this neck of the woods just yet. Looks like they’re just starting to get a foothold in your area.

Our trees haven’t started turning as much yet but we’re seeing a bit of color-will have to wait for the first frost before the trees light up.

We had beautiful warm day today and the leaf monster appeared in my yard.

in fact the leaf monster got so warm, the long sleeve shirt had to go-

finally the leaf monster left and the Lil returned

and even had a try at making a picture of ol’ granny who had been covered with leaves during the leaf monster attack
