8ve

Some one please tell me what the word 8ve means. I can’t find it
in my English-Japanese dictionary.
Also, the word ‘piping’ and ‘Pipering’, what is the differnce?

It’s short for ‘octave’

“Piping” becomes “Pipering” when you have the truckelehaulgh.

Is there an equivalent word in Irish Gaelic for ‘pipering’? In Scottish Gaelic, the closest translation of ‘piobaireachd’ is quite literally ‘pipering’. A lot of times, Gaelic expression can become embedded in the English dialect, even amongst non-speakers.

Chers,
Calum

Yup. In Irish, it’s “piobaireacht.” Slight difference. Unlike the d at the end of the S.Gaelic “piobaireachd”, you do pronounce the t at the end in Irish.

truckelehaulgh???

WHAT’S THIS MEAN AGAIN

“truckelehaugh” = also spelled “trickelly how”

  • a nonsense word from Seámus Ennis, meaning the difficult or tricky “how to” regarding learning UPs.
