Hmmm, i need to buy that “High Part of the Road” album.
Most albums only got one vote each. That just shows there are a lot of albums out there, but few real landmark ones.
That’s only one category of the poll – if you click on the “Back to the Poll Index” at the bottom of the page, you get the full listing of questions, including Flute and Whistle albums.
I wouldn’t take the results too seriously – they let anyone vote. Though I don’t think too many of the albums I voted for got more than two votes…
Still, there are a lot of cool albums in there.
Ah, this makes more sense, with Matt Molloy’s black album getting 11 votes in flute, and Mary Bergin’s first being the top rated in whistle.

Actually, to be more precise, the ones I voted for were either way at the top of a category (like Joe Cooley for favorite album), or (more often) mine was the only vote (Peter Horan/Fred Finn Music of Sligo).
Interesting that High Part of the Road took first as “top 5 most influential on my development”, but only got one vote as “top 5 favorite”.
And I just noticed that my vote for Music of Sligo might have been the only vote it got for “top 5 favorite”, but they included a picture of the cover! (Which I’d never seen before. Sweet!)
