2004 Florida Tionol

As I mentioned in another post, I attended the 2004 Florida Tionol. What a great experience. John Maze and the gang down there did a fantastic job organizing and many thanks to the School for opening up their facility to us. It really created a venue with a relaxed atmosphere and positive energy.

Of course we thought it amusing that the beginner piper class was held in the “Quiet Area”…

Many thanks to Kieran O’Hare and Cillian Vallely for providing top notch instruction and their incredible patience with us newbies and novices.

For those of you who were in the class, I have the recordings converted to MP3 format. If you would like copies, contact me via PM or email.

Regards,
Gary

Tony, thanks for the link. Great job on the writeup..especially my pic!
(not sure if you were the author or someone else)

Cillian taught us a Kerry Slide (he could not remember the name), and Rolling in the Rye Grass.

I’m sending a CD with the MP3s to John, and he is planning to post them along with some other photos as well.

Regards,
Gary

Yeah,
It was all that and a bag of chips!
I’m trying to record all the classes and concert as well. Working gets in the way of living sometimes!

Yes, It was very good. My first ever, and John Skelton on the flute was great too. I was very glad to be a part of it all, and maybe one day in a few years I will be learning me some Uilleann pipes as well there!
