2 tunes / 1 composer?

Was wondering whilst listening to Planxty’s ‘The Dark Slender Boy’ if it is in fact written by the same composer who did Liam O’Flynn’s ‘The Dark Woman of the Glen’ ?

Both have a lot of stylistic melodies in common, but I suppose I could be wrong. Perhaps they are the same song with subtle differences?

Any information about the composer(s) would be greatly appreciated.
